If you haven’t noticed, which I’m sure you have, today is Friday, November 11, 2011. So 11/11/11 – quite catchy if I do say so myself. It’s also kind of monumental of sorts because supposedly this sort of thing doesn’t happen often…actually it won’t happen for another 100 years.
So it looks like we’re all pretty lucky to have seen this day…the 11th day on the 11th month during the year of 2011. It kind of makes you wonder how do you commemorate this kind of thing….do you have a party, get together with friends, take the day off from work…what do you do to celebrate a day of ones…
Well, today is also Veteran’s day. A day we all take a moment to remember, honor and thank those who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces. It’s a duty that few choice but many respect and I’m proud to say I’m one of those many who respect because I definitely don’t have the strength or courage to do what those men and women do everyday to keep us safe, our country protected and keep the world as we know it in good hands.
So 11/11/11 — A day that I hope left an impact. Not sure what kind. But an impact. It’s very rare for us to see this and obviously it’s a blessing….just like those who have served in our armed forces…they’ve been a blessing to our lives, our country.
But lastly, 11/11/11 it’s one of those dates you’ll never forget…I mean how could you it’s a bunch of ones. But that’s just it, it’s a bunch of ones…standing together…hmm….sounds familiar to me. Veterans and those currently on active duty all stand together as one…no matter how far or how close they are to their loved ones, their friends, their mission, their fight…they stand together as one.
So 11:11 on 11/11/11 – stand together as one….and make a wish of course, that’s they say you should do at 11:11 anyway and that’s any day of the week and year, so I get on this particular day, make a wish.
Until next time,
