where I’ve been and where I’m going…

Ok, so I’m not gonna lie…it’s been a LONG time.

I have neglected you guys and I apologize — you guys deserve better than that.

But this is what’s been going on… a lot to say the least.

So on top of working, I’ve had a lot of other outside commitments. Like helping my good friends, Perrine and Josh, publicize their inaugural event with their non-profit iAMfashion. So in a matter of a few weeks, I’ve been writing press releases, emailing a bunch of news outlets and utilizing a lot of social media to get the group a little, well deserved attention. But their highly anticipated runway event will be this weekend in Greensboro

I’ve also been doing a lot of networking — last week and weekend I attended some NABJ events here in the district and each event was a good experience and turned out to be an opportunity to meet and network with journalists in the business.

So be on the look out for some blog posts about the NABJ Hall of Fame event which was super classy and one about the new movie, Red Tails, about the Tuskegee Airmen which I got to see via NABJ as well.

Lastly, I’m thinking about adding a section to this blog dedicated to networking tips and strategies — this past week with all the NABJ events, it made me realize how much I’ve learned in my short but meaningful journalism career thus far about how to network and meet contacts. So stayed tuned for that new venture of mine!

Ok loves, I promise to arise from this blogging hiatus and I’ll get back to my regular blogging cycle soon — I promise!

Until next time,

P.S. Happy February everyone 🙂  Can’t believe 2012 is just rolling on by!
