We’re only a few days into the new month of March and I’ve already had so many adventures with more to come!
In the past few days, I’ve had the chance to do so much.
Last weekend, I went back home to North Carolina for a few days to attend my first college wedding — basically my first wedding where the bride and the groom were college friends! And it was such a nice affair and I’m so glad I was able to go but it was a surreal feeling — I know have two friends who recently graduated from college and are MARRIED! They’ve tied the knot, found the something old and blue and they’re Mr. and Mrs! Talk about growing up, right?
It’s also March which means….drum roll please… MARCH MADNESS! Basketball, basketball and yes, MORE basketball! Between the ACC and NCAA tournaments, I’m all about basketball and of course, all about my Tar Heels!
But March isn’t all about sports or weddings, it’s also full of FASHION!
I’m really getting into the DC fashion scene and I’m really excited to see how it all turns out. And just so you can get an idea of where I’m headed, I’ll give you a quick preview.
Girls Night Out DC — So this upcoming week, I’ll be going to an event called Girls Night Out and basically for two nights, this event takes over a city and tells all the women to come through to be pampered, try out some of the newest beauty and hair products and of course, shop with a variety of vendors! I’ve never been to anything like it and I’m so glad I’m off one of the two nights, the event will be in town!
Fashion Revisited Swap — Now this is one of the events I’ve been looking forward to! It’s a fashion swap where women will be able to bring up to 10 items from their wardrobe and then SWAP them with other attendees! So it’s thrifting but mingling and networking at the same time! And this will be one of my first events as a fashion blogger in DC!
Here’s the flyer if you’d like to come through!
I’ve already had the chance to talk with the event coordinator, Lerkia Lee, and I could already tell from my interview with her that the event would be good fun, good fashion and a chance to meet some new people! Plus my interview really wasn’t an interview, it was more like a good conversation with a fellow thrifter/vintage lover and fashion enthusiast! Lerkia is also a bridal specialist and personal stylist with MODAGE (Where modern meets vintage — which I love by the way!!) and she was so upbeat and excited about this event because it’s something that women do all the time on a small scale and she wanted to expand it to other women from various walks of life in the DMV area. So needless to say, I’m excited to cover the event as press but to meet and talk with more fashionable women in the DMV! So if you’re free next Saturday, March 17th, definitely check it out!
House of Eloise Tea Time Trunk Series — And finally to end my weekend of fashion, next Sunday I’ll be going to a vintage trunk show with tea and other goodies! The event is hosted by House of Eloise and they’re known for their vintage style from the 202 to the 212! (DC to NYC, if you didn’t catch that) Plus it’s another one of those events that’s all about meeting new people, browsing cool and new fashion items, resisting temptation to buy everything you see and just enjoy another part of the city.
Whew, now that’s what I call some March Madness! Weddings, basketball and fashion, not a bad way to bring in my first spring in DC!
And then….I get to look forward to the cherry blossoms blooming in the spring too! (Yay, for my first spring in the district!!)
Anywho, that’s enough for now, if you’re in the district, check out some of these events too and if you see me say hello. And if you’re not, well you already know where to go to get a recap of what happened! (hint hint, it’s right here! 🙂 )
Until next time,
