Ready for a fashion Tangerine Tango?

As you guys know, I’m a journalist by day, blogger by night and thrifter by nature and I’m always looking to find the next best deal or fashion event! Well, coming up this weekend, Dewdrop DC will be hosting a fashion swap that will not only give  your wardrobe a boost but you’ll be helping others too!
Like any swap, you bring clothes and then swap with other fashionistas but at this event, all the leftover clothes from the swap will be donated to Goodwill! So you get to score some great fashion and give back to your community – sounds like a plan to me!

Below is some more information about the event and here’s the link for tickets!

–Dewdrop Hosts a Tangerine Tango Swap–

Fashionistas can grab a stylish wardrobe without spending big bucks and while supporting a good cause. Dewdrop will host a Tangerine Tango Swap on Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 1-4:00 pm, at Vapiano (4900 Hampden Lane in Bethesda, MD). Vapiano is conveniently located a block and a half from the Bethesda Metro on the Red Line.

Fashionistas are challenged to score a perfect 10 at the Tangerine Tango Swap by bringing unwanted yet stylish items to the swap in exchange for items from other fashionistas. Bring five items or more of like-new or vintage clothing, shoes and accessories. Then, fill up a bag with as many items as you brought in. The honor code applies—we will not have a voucher system to check how many items you take. All sizes are welcome and encouraged. In light of the hot color-blocking trend, and tangerine tango as the “it” color, summer season items are only accepted, and items are not limited to only this color.

To avoid long lines and to maximize time to inspect for quality, there will be a drop-off time of 1:00 to 2:30 pm. Vapiano is located in Bethesda Row where there are many shops and cafes to peruse before the doors to the swap open at 2:30 pm. Fashionistas can swap until 4:00 pm, when the doors to the swap close. Tables and clothing racks will be sorted and labeled by type of clothing and size, from extra small to plus size.

Not only can fashionistas look fabulous in their new wardrobe, but they can feel good knowing that any clothing remaining from the swap will be donated to Goodwill. Goodwill’s mission is to help people earn a living, improve their lives, and strengthen their families and their communities.

Register early—Dewdrop will give away swag bags to the first 50 registrants online. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 at the door with at least five items at both price points. Tickets are available at

To add to the fun, there will also be raffle prizes donated by local Bethesda retailers as well as a red carpet photo-op, where fashionistas can strike a pose and don their swap finds.

So there you have it, a fun filled afternoon of fashion, summer fun and donating back to your community! I’ll be missing this event because I’ll be at work BUT my bestie, Perrine, is Dewdrops’ newest intern so I’ll get to see her this weekend anyway! And if you’re in the area, you should just come anyway to swap a few clothes and meet my bestie!

Until next time,
