Santa Baby….Here’s my Holiday Wish List

Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
I’ve been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
I’ll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Every year, I love hearing various renditions of Santa Baby during the holiday season. (Eartha Kitt’s version is my favorite) But this year, I was inspired to use this song to share my holiday wish list. I mean, I girl can dream right? And these pieces are just the definition of statement styles and looks that I’m pretty sure I work into my wardrobe…especially as a DMV girl! 🙂

So Santa Baby… here’s my holiday wish list… you can slip it under the tree after you hurry down the chimney!

Camouflage Pants: For some reason, this past fall I got this urge to add camouflage to my wardrobe  and I think it’s because the baggy menswear pants have made their way into women’s fashion in a chic way. I love the idea of a skinny leg camouflage pant paired with heels or cute — it’s the new play on hard and soft looks.

White Tux Jacket with Black Trim: Most of my friends know that I am a blazer girl — I love them and if I could I’d add one to every outfit. But out of all the blazers I have, I don’t have any tuxedo style ones and I don’t have a pure white one either. But I think it’d be a lovely accessory to dress up a casual Friday look or to doll up a night on the town look — either way, I use it, I want one! And of course, the oh so fabulous Janelle Monae is my inspiration for my love of the tux jacket!

She wears black and white so well and I just love the shape of this jacket on her!

Faux Fur Vest: Now, I usually don’t go for furs…I’m more of a peacock or trench kind of girl but when I saw the faux fur vest hit the streets this season…I decided to have a change of heart. For me, the concept that it’s a fur vest is great because it’s an accessory that adds to your look without overpowering it but also keeps you warm! Now that’s my kind of accessory that’s functional and cute!

Wide Legged High Waist Pants: And last but certainly not least, the wide leg high waist pants. It’s like the definition of power suit meets chic and it can be interpreted in so many different ways. I love pants that are in bright, bold colors and then the ones that have huge wide legs and everything in between. The only downfall about this piece is that for a tall girl like me, I’d have to find the perfect pair that’s long enough for my legs while still keeping the high waist style. But I’m determined to find a pair in the near future — just you wait!

Alright Santa, don’t fail me now — you have a list and I hope you’re checking it twice because these would be some lovely holiday treats to find underneath my Christmas tree!

Until next time,
