It’s that time of the year again… Fashion Week – The Power of Style in the district! This year marks 18th fashion week in Washington and the week kicked off with Eco Fashions.
This was my first time attending the official opener and I must say I was pretty impressed. The runway show was at the Woolly Mammoth Theater and all the fashions were Eco-friendly and make from very items. The level of creativity was amazing and it was cool to see how the various designers created their designs.
And just to prove how cool some of these designs were I have posted a few pictures from the show. Even though I was sitting in the second row, my iPhone couldn’t really capture the show to the best of its ability. But hey, at least you’ll get a glimpse of it!
All the models — love it!
Oh hey! That’s me – Rocking colored jeans, vintage Alfred Dunner shirt, and nude pumps!
And this awesome backdrop was created by The Art Monkeys who were able to capture all DC has to offer so well! Loved it!
Our host for the evening were: Chris Bukowski (Season 8 Bachelorette) and Seema Wadhwa (Inova Going Green)
Hello from the second row!
The show was a nice change of pace for me and my previous experiences with DC Fashion Week. For the past two seasons, I’ve attended the Annual Fashion Industry Networking Party, which has been tons of fun but can be a little hectic. You get to meet a ton of people at the networking party but it can be crowded and there a very few chairs around to rest your poor feet which are most likely in high heeled shoes! lol But I must say, it was just nice to take a seat and enjoy a show.
DC Fashion Week events continue until this Sunday and if you have the time, it’d be worth it to try to make it some of the shows and even the networking party, which is FREE! And as many know, anything free in this city is worth taking advantage of!
Until next time,
